rugged phone helps workers stay safe in tough environments
n advanced new safety monitoring solution for employees. Lone worker safety expert Peoplesafe, has teamed up with manufacturers of the world’s toughest phones, Sonim Technologies, to launch an intensive protection system for employees out in rough and remote settings. The new Sonim XP3 Sentinel has been designed to withstand extreme temperatures and water and has a highly durable shell to meet the demands of harsh working environments. It comes complete with software developed by Sonim in close consultation with Peoplesafe, which allows the company’s professionals to monitor and respond to lone workers around- he-clock and safeguard against injury, illness and personal attack. Worried employees can put monitors on greater alert when they go into high-risk situations. In an emergency, they can press a button to feed their exact location swiftly back while they are spoken to and sent assistance if necessary. There is also a ‘man down’ motion-sensor triggered if the phone falls, tilts or is stationary, which will raise an alarm if the employee is unable to do so themselves. Tratos launch new optical cables
ratos has launched a new series of FTTH optical cables especially designed for use inside buildings to connect individual properties. Optimised for brownfield construction networks, the new FTTH cables run vertically from the bottom to the top of the building, and one or more of the cables in the bundle can be branched off at any point and connected to the end user. A reduced amount of connectivity points (splices, connectors) reduces the installation time, thereby minimising disruption for residents. The cables themselves are highly flexible, even with the added protective reinforcement designed into the cable, allowing the horizontal drop cables to be easily pulled through existing ducts without any damage.
