ONE TO WATCH

Rehab London is a male grooming range that is ‘rock ‘n roll’ on the outside, but gentle on the inside. Seeing

the importance of natural products designed for men, who often have sensitive skin, the range is free from skin-unfriendly parabens, petrochemicals and sodium laureth sulphates, and packed full of the hero anti- oxidant ingredient, Hawaiian water algae. It also includes volcanic sand of Tahiti and bamboo spiny medulla granules for deep exfoliation, new to the UK market. Scrub Up Detox caters for the fact that men produce 20% more oil and have larger skin pores than women, containing a variety of natural sands and exfoliants as well as almond oil which retains moisture and prevents excess oil secretion. Designed for daily use, Rehab London Detox also helps avoid ingrown facial hair and is also a great pre-shave face wash. Rsp £9.95, Rehab London, www.rehablondon.co.uk.

skin. The range is formulated with zinc to help absorb excess oils, which contribute towards spots and blemishes, and chamomile, which acts as a skin soothing anti-irrritant. The fi ve-strong range includes Quick Fix Cleansing Wipes, Triple Action Face Wash, Blackhead Eliminating Face Scrub, Anti- Blemish Moisturiser and Rapid Action Spot Zapper. Rsp from £2.99, Simple Health & Beauty, 0121 712 6523.

4. Poreclens

is a new unique cleansing mitt that removes all types of make up using only water. Tessa Clarke and Rob Sallis developed the Poreclens mitt after they realised that there was an opportunity for a simple cleansing product that performs well. Poreclens takes off make up because it is made of micro fi bre, which is the only

material to break the surface tension of oils that bond make up to the skin. Users simply wet the cloth in clean water then wipe it around the face, removing all traces of make up, then follow with their usual moisturiser. Rsp £9.99, Loren Clarke UK, www.lorenclarke.co.uk.

5. Mudd Facial Masks have been dramatically updated with an innovative re-packaging project. While single use sachets are still available in the range, the masks are now available in fi ve and ten application re-sealable pouch packs, which are a fi rst for the facial mask category. The new range focuses on the most popular variants – deep cleansing Original Mask, hydrating Sea Mask and gentle cleansing Peel Off Mask. Offering great value for money, consumer research conducted in January 2010 confi rmed acceptance of the packaging format and sizes. Rsp from £2.99, The Miles Group, 01484 536 344.

Q A

specialist I use an anti-ageing product regime but is there anything

else I can do to make my skin look more youthful? We have the ability to ‘re- condition’ our skin using the power of touch. You can boost the natural skin renewal process, your anti-ageing product regime and maintain your skin’s youthful tone, and radiance with DIY facial massage. As well as toning and smoothing skin, it helps soften fi ne lines and makes skin look brighter. Apply a little facial oil, such as rose or frankincense, to your skin. Rub your palms together for ten seconds then rest them on your face, counting to ten again. Slowly massage your skin and the underlying muscle in small clockwise circles. Start in the middle of your forehead, working out to your temples and hairline. Work with more pressure into any areas of tension, and into lines, resting your fi ngertips lightly over the area for 30 seconds. You can spend as little as 30 seconds to fi ve minutes working on each section of your face. Then work in the same way from the sides of your nose, across the cheekbones and out to your ears, fi nishing by working along your jaw line. Lightly rest the fi ngertips of each hand underneath each eye area for up to two minutes, work around the rest of your eye area including the sides (crows feet), upper eyelids and eyebrow area.
