National Director’s Message

I start this message by first saying thank-you for letting me represent you and for your continued support. 2009 was the worst year on record for the dairy industry and was dif- ficult and stressful year to say the least. Tat being said, it was great to see the WONDER- FUL National Convention that California put on. I would like to thank and congratulate the many people who worked so hard and gave countless hours of their time to show the rest of the country our cattle, kids

and our California hospitality. Tanks,

Some of the things we have been working on are the impact of Genomics in our future and how it fits in to our T.P.I. formula. Anyone with input I would be happy to talk to you. We are also

Hank Van Exel National Director

in the process of formulating a judges list similar to the Cana- dian style. If you are not on the list and would like to be, please call the National Holstein office and apply.

One of the biggest steps National Holstein has taken is promot- ing Supply Management Program. Agree or disagree our cur- rent system in pricing milk is broken. We need to fix it, our fu- ture and that of the Holstein Association depends on it. Please let us hear your input on how to fix it or your support of our stabilization plan. Te National Holstein Association has put a lot of time and money into promoting a plan that will help all producers from coast to coast.

In closing this is a membership organization and you can give direction. I am always ready for new ideas to help our member- ship grow and prosper, so give me a call or send me an email.
