Viking Johnson is part of Crane Building Services & Utilities (www.cranebsu.com) and has been supplying high quality mechanical pipe couplings for almost 80 years, allowing customers to reliably connect pipes of the same or disparate materials. The company is an innovator in developing pipe joint and repair solutions ranging from wide tolerance fittings for everyday use to more specialist products to meet specific customer requirements. The Viking Johnson system simplifies the design, installation and maintenance of pipework by permitting joints to be made between plain-ended pipes. Each coupling copes with expansion, contraction and angular deflection.

Viking Johnson are also able to offer a range of elastomeric expansion joints called PosiFlex, which provide a means of accommodating movement and vibrations in pipework systems. In addition WASK, supplies equipment which can temporarily stop mains flow in an operating pipeline whilst still maintaining a water supply to the customer. Pipelines can then be isolated for repair, alteration and renovation.

Water Wastewater Treatment magazine has been the British water industry’s principal publication for more than 50 years. WWT provides the water sector with a showcase for its expertise, and a forum to share information. The magazine focuses on the strategic, engineering and policy issues facing water utilities, and the role their consulting, contracting and supply chain partners have in resolving them. WWT is targeted at senior managers and engineers in the water companies and their supply chain. The magazines independently audited circulation clearly demonstrates that WWT has a significantly higher number of readers within the utilities than any other publication in the sector. Regular columns from Water UK, CIWEM and process guru Frank Rogalla are augmented by expert contributions from across the industry and first-class investigative news writing. Through its annual Round Table debate, WWT has sought to raise issues of concern to the industry with regulators, politicians and other key stakeholders. Recent debates have included the responsibility of water companies in combating climate change, the effect of the five-year spending review period on the supply chain and the provision of sustainable water and sewerage services for London. WWT also publishes WWT Ireland bi-annually. This supplement to the main magazine also has an independent pan-island readership. Other supplements include the Consultancy Contact Centre and Skills Centre. WWT is also co-organiser of the Water Industry Achievement Awards, along with sister publication WET News. WWT is part of the Faversham House Group, owner of the edie online service. FHG also organises the environmental exhibition Sustainabilitylive!, incorporating IWEX, and is publisher of WET News, Desalination Water Reuse and Sustainable Business.
