DRAINAGE


North Staffs Irrigation operates the micro banding drainage system. This relatively new technique offers a speedy solution for the removal of water and also improves the soil structure by allowing sufficient oxygen to penetrate the rootzone.


Under normal circumstances the alternative to banding is the total reconstruction of the turf area, which is not only more expensive but also takes the turf ‘out of play’ for longer periods. Banded areas usually recover quickly and can return to use within 14 to 21 days.


The installation of an irrigation system is a significant investment and to ensure your investment is


protected, we offer maintenance contracts for all the systems we install and also for existing systems where, perhaps, a previous provider has not proved reliable.


This usually takes the form of an annual contract where we visit twice a year to ensure the system is operating at peak performance. It also includes reduced charges for any extra visits that may be required.


We also carry spares for most components, including sprinklers, impact and gear drives and parts from all the major manufacturers.


DESIGN


Our staff carry out a thorough site survey to ensure that all underground obstacles such as existing drainage, tree roots and cables, are known prior to undertaking any design work. This ensures that our installation team can carry out their work with the minimum of disturbance.

• Large private gardens and estates


Our team works with your staff to ensure the installation is completed with the minimum of disruption. On completion, a detailed and accurate field record of the installation is provided for the customer’s own reference and for ongoing maintenance programmes.


We also carry out remedial work on existing drainage systems, which includes extensions to new areas of the facility.


We also use the laser-controlled whizz wheel and trencher system which, along with banding, allows us to link to existing drainage systems or purpose-made additions.
