The Pitchcare Training Partners Scheme
As we have built up our working relationships with other training providers and colleges, it has become clear that if we are all to succeed in our common aim to provide high quality, relevant training to Groundsmen, Greenkeepers and others working in the land-based industries, then we need to work together to bring our courses to their attention.
Pitchcare is uniquely placed, because of the national coverage we have through our website and bi-monthly magazine, to enable our training provider colleagues to reach end users and make them aware of the training opportunities and events that are available. We can offer you a variety of ways to promote your courses across the entire Pitchcare media range, including: • The Pitchcare magazine and regular training supplements
• A banner on the Pitchcare website with a direct hyperlink through to your organisation’s website
• Publication of press releases and news about your organisation and its special events, such as seminars and conferences, on our website
• Access to the expanding Pitchcare membership base (currently circa 31,000) through e-mail newsletters, to promote courses and training events
• Opportunity to sponsor e-mail newsletters to our members on a particular topic of your choice
• The opportunity to contribute articles to the Pitchcare magazine, training supplement and website
• Inclusion on the Pitchcare database of training providers, through which you may be invited to nominate instructors for bespoke courses in your locality
• We can direct to your organisation training enquiries from individuals in your locality
Bespoke packages are available and we would be delighted to discuss your requirements with you, just contact me

New Essential Management Skills course dates announced
Following the completion of another successful Essential Management Skills course at Leicester Tigers RFC back in February, we’re pleased to announce three new course dates for later this year.
They are: 30 Oct/05 Feb St Albans School, 13 Nov/12 Feb Lancashire County Cricket Club 04 Dec/19 Feb Gloucester Rugby Club
The course is delivered by trainer and careers counsellor Frank Newberry. Frank, a regular contributor to the Pitchcare magazine, has trained groundsmen and greenkeepers for more than 15 years and the course is aimed at helping those in a supervisory or management position to acquire a range of vital management skills and put them into practice effectively.
Here’s some of the feedback we received from delegates on the last course:
Inspirational – a great learning experience - a must to go to
Andrew Whittaker, Head Greenkeeper, The Grove Golf Resort Hotel, Hertfordshire
Structured to individual needs; flows well and keeps good, active participation
Russell King, Groundsman, Belvedere Property Management
Very useful – a management “must do” Steve Harris, Grounds Manager, Uppingham School, Rutland
Excellent, enjoyed the 2 days with the gap in between Jacob Snyman, Grounds Manager, Radley College
Unlike generic management training, Pitchcare’s course content has been developed specifically to suit groundsmen and greenkeepers, which is essential if delegates are to successfully implement their new skills in the workplace. A course itinerary can be found in the training section of the Pitchcare Website. Three months separate the two days so delegates have the opportunity to implement new techniques and then feed their experiences back to the group.
Five CPD Credits*, plus an attendance certificate, are awarded to delegates who complete the course. Delegates can also opt to attend an additional Day 3
Very informative, learned a lot and improved my skills Wayne Lumbard, Head Groundsman, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC
Excellent, would thoroughly recommend it Neil Dixon, Grounds Manager, St Paul’s School, Barnes, London
Excellent, provided me with good tools to deal with staff Richard Mussett, Deputy Grounds Manager, Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School, Hertfordshire
Well run, very informative, good instruction Allan Moore, Grounds Manager, Jesus College, Cambridge
Health & Safety workshop at a later date. The cost for two full days of quality training plus comprehensive workbooks, lunch and all refreshments is £345.00 + VAT.
