IT’S been exactly a year since we launched the hard copy version of Pitchcare - the Magazine to cries of “does the industry need another magazine?”. Well thankfully it did and, judging by our members comments, it still does. Our first edition was a blank canvas. One aim was always to

Not surprisingly we had entries from all parts of the world for this SISIS competition, from no less than 26 different countries including Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand. The task was to correctly
identify the location of twelve SISIS machines in action. Only a handful of eagle-e
eyed members got
all twelve right and, following a random
selection, the winner was Charles Johnson of Woking & Horsell Cricket Club, Surrey. Charles received his
Satellite Navigation System from SISIS’s Southern Regional Manager, David Luxford. The answers to the

be ‘different’; to pack the magazine with interesting articles, written by turfcare professionals for turfcare professionals. We wanted a modern design, without going over the top, and, importantly, we wanted to reflect the same professionalism that the turfcare industry deserves. We believe we have achieved that and more. In our first year Pitchcare - the Magazine won awards for
‘Best Technical and Best Non-Technical articles’ at the BRITTIR Awards. We’ve held innovative machinery days where product categories were tested side-by-side and we’ve published stimulating articles that have created debate within the industry. This Anniversary issue is the largest magazine we have ever
produced - our aim is to get to the 100 pages mark - watch this space! We couldn’t have done any of this without the support of our contributors, advertisers, membership and readership. So on behalf of the Pitchcare team, thank you.
