Saturday, June 26 Mary Queen of Peace Church will be holding an annual multi-family yard sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Church parking lot, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem. It will be held rain or shine. Saturday, July 10 Salemhaven Nursing/Rehab Center, a non-profit organization, will sponsor a Yankee Pride fundraiser, New England Tradesman Tailgate Emporium, featuring over 100 vendors offering New England- made products and services. The event will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Salem High School parking lot, Geremonty Drive, Salem. All proceeds to benefit the Salemhaven van fund. Thursday, July 8 As part of the “Water Your Mind – Read” Adult Summer Reading Event, the Kelley Library will sponsor a “Boating Safety with the NH Marine Patrol” seminar at 7 p.m. The NH Marine Patrol will give an overview of the Marine Patrol, and talk about common watercraft violations and the use of safety equipment in watercrafts.

Wednesday, June 30 The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce will hold Business After Hours at Canobie Lake Park, 85 North Policy, Salem, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This is the biggest Chamber mixer of the year! Every year, Canobie Lake Park graciously opens their Ball Room for the Chamber membership to hold a huge Business After Hours, which will include great food, beverages, and plenty of people. Do you know someone thinking of becoming a Chamber member? Give their information to the office and they can be our guest for the night! All attendees are welcome to stay to see a limited engagement show, “The King Lives,” which is a live tribute to Elvis Presley, and also to enjoy the rides in the park after the event.


Sunday, June 27 The Parish Community of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salem will be celebrating the Centennial of the parish with a Mass at 2 p.m. at the church, and a reception and dinner to follow at the Granite Rose, Hampstead, NH. Starting Monday, June 28 The Salem Recreation Department will offer their popular, seven-week Summer Fun Programs for 6-9 year-olds at Haigh School and 10-13 year-olds at Woodbury Middle School, which include theme weeks, activities, games, arts and crafts, field trips, etc. Together with the Recreation Department and our enthusiastic staff, children will enjoy lots of activities. The programs run five days per week, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Parents must register their own child. Most field trip days run on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (weather permitting) There is a cost for the program, which includes State Park trips, special events, crafts, and more, with rates for two children or more in the same household. Lesson times are scheduled according to ability and age, and will be held on either Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is a fee for the lessons. Fridays – July 9, 16, 23, 30, and August 6 The Salem Recreation Department will offer Special Needs Camps for children in grades K-12 on Fridays from 9-11 a.m. at Woodbury Middle School. Each week will offer a different activity as follows: July 9 – Track and Field; July 16 – Bowling at Park Place in Windham; July 23 – Basketball; July 30 – Soccer; and August 6 – a field trip to miniature golf or Field of Dreams.
