OI! FOR ENGLAND Tue 27 July, Royal Welsh College Of Music And Drama, Cardiff. Tickets: £5. Info: 029 2039 1391. One of four newly penned plays hosted at this venue, but presented under the umbrella of the Fringe @ Cardiff Festival, this one was written by Terry Griffiths and is presented by the Not Too Tame Theatre Company. As with the other three, Oi! For England debuts here before baring all, in a manner of speaking, at the Edinburgh Festival. It’s about the dilemma faced by a young skinhead punk band in Manchester, circa 1979, when they have a chance to get their coveted first gig. Problem is, it’s at a far-right rally, this not being their ideology of choice. Do they bite the bullet just to get a foot in the door? And further mixed metaphors. No-one called Oi! Oi! until 1980, by the way. Just saying.
