BLOWOUT IN THE PARK Sat 17 July, Coopers Field, Cardiff Tickets: £25. Info: www.blowoutinthepark. com
This festival would have had something larger written on it, as it looks fun and all, but Buzz understood that it hung in the balance for a minute there, after the Florence & The Machine gig in the same field caused aural and physical pollution across Cardiff. No jokes, please. OK, jokes. Anyway, Blowout is set to feature five stages across 11 hours, as initially promised, so here’s the haps. Shaun Ryder, iconically addled frontman of the Happy Mondays and Black Grape, headlines with a greatest hits set; Bad Manners and A Skillz are other ‘names’ on the main stage. Dance-wise, most genres are fea- tured across tents hosted by Aperture/Neuropol, Dirty Knees and Supacell. Highlights plucked from a long lists of jocks include Gary Beck (pictured), Shades Of Rhythm, Ben UFO and the Bridgewater Reggae Soundsystem.
