Who is available and when The Buckfastleigh Medical Centre is open from 8am until 6pm weekdays. Surgeries are held mornings and afternoons, except for weekends and bank holidays. We operate a ‘same day’ and a ‘book in advance’ appointment system. You should be able to see a doctor by ringing us on the day (telephones open at 8am) or book a pre-bookable appointment by contacting us between 8am and 6pm. We are open on a Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm. Booked appointments only.
The doctors and practice nurses are also
happy to offer telephone advice. If they are busy please leave your telephone number and your call will be returned. The doctor will make a home visit if it is felt your condition warrants it. Ring before 10am if your condition is urgent. Doctors can see four patients in the time it takes to make a single home visit. For this reason we ask our patients to come to the practice if they are able. When the practice is closed, Devon Doctors on Call offers patients a full GP service.
