This letter is to verify that M & S of Pawling is outstanding once again. First, I just would like you to know that I love my new car - (2010 Buick Lucerne). You make us feel right at home. We have had a relationship with M & S for the past ten years. M & S has worked on my first car, which of course we purchased from you (1999 Pontiac Bonneville). During the time of ownership, no matter what the issues were, you have always taken care of all our needs, not only of our car but our trucks as well, never failing to come through for us.
Which brings us to date with a situation we had with one of our trucks (2000 Chevy). A few years
back we had a new motor put into our truck. From day one it never worked properly and ended up going back and forth between the mechanic and the company that made the motor - which never did get resolved. A year later still having issues with this vehicle we then took it elsewhere. They really tried to help but it was just a quick fix and ended up with the same issues as before. At this point we decided to have the vehicle towed to M & S of Pawling. As business owners ourselves, M & S had taken our headache and put a halo on top of it. This time M & S has gone above and beyond to help us get back on track. The truck didn't even turn over at this point. Now between the Service Department (Robert Lollie) and one great mechanic (James Cooper)
whom I've had the pleasure to know for the past several years, both worked furitively on this vehicle to get it up and running again all within a few days. Point of lesson: stay put where you know you can count on great service and excellent mechanics. I realize there are others who also deserve praise as well it should be, so we thank you all. We hope our relationship will last a lifetime. We will never go anywhere else. M & S of Pawling has proven its dependablity, its reliablity and most outstanding in their field. TEST DRIVE 2010 BUICK LACROSSE CXL AWD By Steven Silver
It doesn’t look like any other vehicle on the road. The curvaceous lines are truly captivating. The sedan looks like it is in motion even when standing still. I was so happy when Mike Sylvester of M&S of Pawling invited me to take his demo home. Returning it to him was the problem.
This is truly a luxury vehicle. This carbon black model was equipped with every creature comfort and with every luxury component imaginable, including a 364 watt 11 speaker Harman/Kardon stereo, navigation, backup camera, panoramic moonroof, heated and cooled leather seats, and a heated steering wheel. This fully equipped, beautifully executed, top-of-the-line all wheel drive sedan stickered at $38,500. If that’s not in your budget, you can purchase a nicely equipped front wheel drive Buick LaCrosse for around $26,000, well below any other comparably equipped luxury sedan.
The well-designed interior has easy-to-read backlit displays in a dual cockpit design.
Most of the driver’s controls can be reached without removing your hands from the leather and wood steering wheel. All others are all easily reached. The center “info-tainment” center is readily accessible to both the driver and the passenger. I was able to pair my Bluetooth without a manual. The navigation system was easy to program. Thoughtful consideration to details included fold-down front door storage compartments for easy access. The electronic parking brake adds an even higher level of refinement and sophistication.
I pressed the keyless start button and the dashboard became alive. The analog displays are well-illuminated and crystal clear. I couldn’t hear the 3.0 liter V-6 engine even after reaching highway speeds. The windshield has a special sound deadening layer to further reduce any intrusion into the luxurious cabin.
I headed up back roads to Quaker Hill in New York. I found myself behind a Porsche on Akendale Road. No, I wasn’t trying to

race, but I thought it would make for a fun ride. It did, and then some. The sure- footed traction with no body roll made for an effortless drive. Even on uneven rough surface, the LaCrosse handled responsively. I never realized how fast I was going until a hairpin turn snuck up on me. While the Porsche’s rear end started to slip, the Buick held its footing. It wasn’t until I glanced at the speedometer that I decided that 62 mph was too excessive on back roads! The all wheel drive and traction control certainly came in handy.
There is a reason why Buick is the #1 selling car in China. The Chinese look at this brand without any pre- or ill-conceived notions about the vehicle. They look at the styling, the performance, and the price, and this new Buick comes out on top. If Americans were as open-minded, Buick would reign supreme.
