The curriculum of 23 classroom lesson plans includes related learning and assessment tools. Animated Videos Street Kids International has developed three animated videos that transcend the limits of language and generate dialogue among young people about the issues involved in street life. Karate Kids, Goldtooth and Speed’s Choice present the realities and challenges faced by youth dealing with issues such as sexual health, drug use and entrepreneurship. Additional Classroom Resources CHV20- Civics Through the three parts of this unit, students will learn about the Convention on the Rights of the Child, examine who has access to their rights and how this relates to youth who live on the street. Students will explore the initiatives in which Canadian NGOs are making a difference for youth around the world.
CHV20 – Careers Through this four part unit students will learn about entrepreneurship. Students will familiarize themselves with the characteristics that are necessary for entrepreneurial success; and will explore the various opportunities that exist for youth to undertake entrepreneurial pursuits in Canada as well as abroad. Additionally, students will discuss the concept and benefit of social business, corporate social responsibility and social entrepreneurship.
