SalvAide
SALVAIDE is a registered Canadian charitable organization composed of a network of communities and supporters that stretches from coast to coast. SalvAide is the only Canadian NGO with an exclusive focus on and expertise with respect to El Salvador since 1985. We are a unique organization where caring people can and do make a difference in the lives of those in need in El Salvador.
Our Mission Our mission is to build social justice, dignity and economic development and sustainability with the people of El Salvador through empowerment.
Our Mandate SalvAide's mandate is to strengthen civil society, promote sustainable and diversified economic development and to be a catalyst for Canadian participation in the support of Salvadoran rural communities to meet their needs and priorities.
Our Goals To increase the strength of civil society in El Salvador as represented by non-governmental organizations (NGOs), popular organizations, women's organizations and communities. To strengthen local economies in El Salvador which are participating in regional and national efforts to create sustainable and diversified economic development. To build Canadian support for community and democratic development in El Salvador.
Our Resources SalvAide produces promotional materials including newsletters, pamphlets, cards, power-point presentations and can provide speakers and workshop facilitators on a wide range of issues. Volunteers could visit your schools and colleges interested in considering a service-learning experience in El Salvador. In addition, students who have been to El Salvador on delegations and internship positions are available throughout the year to give talks about their experiences there.
Delegations We organize two week delegations tours to visit partners in El Salvador. On these tours the delegations learn about the economic, social, religious and political reality, as well as, the work of social initiatives. Opportunities are
