Class of 2022


As adults we might expect some students to have difficulty when asked the question about what they would like to be when they grow up. Maybe this is because as adults we contemplate this question with the memories of growing up, and adding to that what we have learned along the way.


Welcome to the Class of 2022


For this group of kindergarten students, the question was not so complicated but rather an idea of how they look at the world happening around them and how they perceive they will fit into this. For them, it is a simple case of getting taller, and following their dreams, without any limitations.


Perhaps, if a supplement like this had been around for us as we graduated from our safe kindergarten class and prepared to “grow up”, we would look back on it as a way for us to remind ourselves of how limitless we felt in their shoes and as a way to regain the boldness to plow ahead into the future before us.


As you read through these entries, imagine the children and their dreams as they look at traditional roles that they feel they will fit into and the non-traditional roles that they strive to achieve. They answer with such thought and have no hesitation in how they will achieve their dreams. You will chuckle as we did.


Someday this amazing group of students will look back on this issue and maybe some will laugh at their answers, but hopefully more will be able to remember how “growing up” could be this easy and limitless.

Thank you to all of the teachers, teaching assistants and parents who spend the time shaping these little individuals each day. We hope you enjoy this publication as much as we enjoy producing it each year.

Bailey When I grow up I want to be a singer. I will need a microphone, a


stage, some people to watch you, people to take your picture and a band.


Kai When I grow up I want to be a doctor. I will need a stethoscope


to check the heart if it’s beating or not, an ear thingy, a needle, toothpaste for your mouth and an office.


Kayla When I grow up I want to be an artist. I will need paintbrushes,


water, paint, crayons, a pencil, and paper.


Terrence When I grow up I would like to be a police officer because they help


people and put bad people in jail. I would need a police station to work at and I need a walkie-talkie and a flashlight to see people. And I need a belt to hold my gun. I would need a black or blue hat with a star on it. I would need a car with lights on it, and all my supplies for the manager.


Brinley When I grow up I want to be in the army. I will need a helmet, gloves,


and a gun. Protection for your body, a face guard for your face so you don’t get hit in the head by a gun, and shoes.


Kade When I grow up I want to be a mechanic. You need a screwdriver,


wrenches, a hoist, a hammer, some oil and a tire pumper.


Zackery When I grow up I want to be a fireman and then a teacher. I need a fire hose, tools, a fire truck, and fire clothes with a helmet.

Chase When I grow up I want to be in the army. I need a hard hat, guns, a


chopping axe, swords, a special jacket, army boots and gloves.


Nicole When I grow up I would like to be a horse rider because I like horses and I can work with my friend Ayla. I would need a horse riding helmet and horse food like grass or hay. I also need a saddle to sit on, and a farm to live on.


Trista When I grow up I would like to be a nurse because I like the uniform


they get to wear. I would like to give needles and check people’s hearts. I would need a stethoscope to check hearts and a needle. I would give stitches and bandage people. I would need a thermometer and a white uniform.


Sam When I grow up I want to be a ferry boat driver because I can visit lots


of people. I will need a big, loud horn, a big ferry boat, boat clothes, adults on the boat and lots of cars for the boat.


Colton When I grow up I want to be a firefighter. I will need a fire truck, a fire house, boots, a helmet and gloves.


Bodee When I grow up I want to be a hockey player. I need hockey gear for


protection, skates, a hockey stick, a helmet, a goalie stick if you’re the goalie, a puck. You have to have a coach. You also need gloves and a goalie net.


Hunter When I grow up I want to be a brander. I need a rope, a horse, baby


calves you brand, wrestlers, kids for markers to mark the calves and a hot brander.


Brody When I grow up I want to be superman because he can fly and he has


a cape. I will need a cape with an “S” on it, red boots, a suit that will rip, glasses for when he is at work, a belt, and eyes that turn red.


Tom When I grow up I am going to be a motorbike driver because I like


motorbikes. I like to drive them fast because if you drive them slow they will fall over. I need a track, a helmet, a motorbike, kneepads, elbow pads, special shoes and a motorbike suit.


Ayla When I grow up I want to be a horse rider because you get to lasso


horses for fun. I need a lasso, a horse, a saddlebag, some food in case you get hungry, a saddle and a sleeping bag for sleeping somewhere.


Kaige When I grow up I want to be a fireman because I like fire trucks. I


need a ladder, special fireman clothes, a fire truck, hose and a axe to break the window.


Landon When I grow up I want to be a policeman because sometimes you


get to turn the lights on top on. I will need a gun, police hat, a suit and a police car.


Morgan When I grow up I want to be a dirt bike rider because I like dirt bikes.


I need some dirt, and spike wheels, a dirt bike with engines on the side and a track.


Wyatt I want to be a monster truck driver because it is big. I need a helmet


because the trucks can tip over. Special racing clothes, big jumps to be able to go over cars. Big giant tires, a really big monster truck


Callie I want to be a police Officer. I will have to go to Police School. I will get a


badge and police car.


Shariq I want to be a Pilot. I will have to go to Pilot School and learn how to fly a plane.


Zarchary I want to be a Policeman. I will get a badge and help people in need.


Aleena I want to be a Rock Star. I will need a microphone and practice my


singing everyday.


Alexander I want to be a Security Guard. I will need a flashlight and a badge. I will


have to go to Security School.


Anna I want to be a Dance Teacher. I will have to practice my dancing everyday, and take tests to teach dance.


Cameron I want to be a Teacher. I will go to school for a long time and work with


kids of all ages.


Logan I want to be a Monster Truck Driver. I will need to get a monster truck and learn to drive it.


Jaymie I want to be a Hairdresser. I will have to go to school and learn to cut


hair, and then I will have to look for a job and hand in my resume to them.


Ethan I want to be a Train Conductor. I will have to go to school to learn


how to drive a train.


Kylia I want to be a Princess Mother. I need a pretty dress, shoes and jewels. I will also have kids that I can take care of.


Destry I want to be a construction worker. I will work on the roads around


town.


Olivia I want to be a Princess. I will have to get pretty clothes and I will


need a Prince.


Owen I want to be a Mechanic. I will have to go to school and learn how to fix cars, and then I will get a job at Nissan.
