What does this mean for parents?
The school will set its own admission arrangements in line with the School Admission Code: we will not introduce selection by ability or interview. We expect to keep very similar arrangements and criteria to those we have now. The Trust will appoint the majority of Governors to the Governing Body, but there will continue to be parent governors elected by yourselves. We will also establish a Parent Stakeholder Group, so that the voice of parents can be represented to the Governing Body. The stakeholder group would allow more parents to be involved and it will be able to raise and feed into the Governing Body issues you wish to have raised there.
Consultation Process
Please let us know what you think about the proposal. You can: Attend a consultation meeting on Thursday 10th June 2010 at 6.00pm. Talk to parent Governors Send back the consultation questionnaire or write to us at the school
All comments must be received in the school by Monday 5th July 2010. The Governors will then review all comments and decide whether to go ahead (and if so, whether to amend the proposals to reflect your suggestions and concerns). There will be another chance to comment on the formal proposals during the summer and start of the Autumn Term before a final decision is taken.
Yours sincerely
Colin Willsher Headteacher, on behalf of the Governing Body
