Project Snapshot The Centre for Sustainable Fashion provokes, challenges and questions the fashion status quo.
Through collaboration the Centre designs transforming solutions that balance ecology, society and culture. The Centre for Sustainable Fashion at London College of Fashion develops research, curriculum, pedagogy and business innovation to support, inspire and create innovative future facing approaches to fashion.
Established in 2008, the CSF is a multidisciplinary centre of research, experimentation and collaboration, using design as the stimulus for culture change towards sustainability in fashion across higher education, industry and government.
It is the only organisation of its kind and has achieved significant indicators of success in the two years since it launched, building a strong platform to offer continued support and inspiration to educators and professionals across the creative industries.
What it means to win
Winning a Green Gown Award would give recognition to the HE sector for being progressive, innovative and ready to tackle the major issues of our era. Fashion is a great communicator and we believe that through radical thought and strategic change we can challenge accepted practices for a truly sustainable future.
This application demonstrated how the London College of Fashion thought laterally and holistically about the different ways Research and Development can change an industry.
