Saudi Post bases its work on modern strategies and advanced postal services, to keep pace with developments in the postal market and the postal industry. Postal Innovation Digest spoke to the man behind the business, Dr Mohammad Benten


Saudi Post has undertaken a number of pioneering business transformation programs in recent years. How has this enabled the corporation to de- velop modern strategies in the field of advanced postal services in order to keep pace with technological develop- ments in the postal market?


The Saudi Post transformation man- date set the goal to provide Saudi Arabia the highest quality postal services that meet and exceed the world’s best. It was clear to the Saudi Post management team that there were many services miss- ing from the Saudi landscape. The basic research identified that mod- ern postal technologies are major enablers to achieve our goals. We focused on technologies that provid- ed efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility, traceability, security and reliability.


We studied all successful experienc- es before undertaking our strategy development and made sure that all technological solutions were proven and workable. We ensured that they are applicable to our environment and transferable to our staff.


There is an increased expectation within the broader postal service industry for symmetrical logistics


Meet Dr Mohammad Benten


Dr Mohammad Benten is currently the President & CEO of the Saudi Post. He is a computer engineering academician and was a professor and Dean of College of Computer Sciences and Engineering at KFUPM Sau- di Arabia. He was also a Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Hajj in Saudi Arabia where he established the e-visa system to stream line the Umrah process.

With the ben- efit of Saudi Post’s mail network and the experience and management of Arabian Hala the potential for NAQEL is huge.


NAQEL sets the standard in the market and industry for a modern transportation company. Relying on its large and varied fleet of vehicles, its qualified staff and its advanced information technology backbone NAQEL transports the Saudi Post mail between cities, towns and vil- lages reaching 4900 locations.
