United Way recognizes PCL Constructors Canada Inc.’s Employees at annual Awards Gala

Representatives of PCL Constructors Canada Inc.’s Ottawa office have received special recognition from the United Way: At a May 19 Gala, the company received the 2010 Best Community Campaign Award.


“PCL made great strides this year in their approach and execution of their work- place campaign for the United Way and other local charities,” said United Way spokesperson Jeff Turner.


“Thanks to their campaign team of Gracy Ragheb, Hélène Savard (who per- sonally canvassed every employee), Emily Parent and Xue Chen, PCL achieved the 100 per cent staff participation mark which resulted in a growth of 434 per cent over their employee donations in 2008.” Turner said PCL’s volunteers held a number of fun events throughout the cam- paign, including an autograph signing ses- sion with PCL Superintendent Marc Cousineau, pictured in campaign posters handed out to workplace campaigns across the city.

“Marc was on hand to sign copies of his poster for a donation which went towards their final campaign tally,” Turner said. “The grand total amount raised was $71,569.”
