Building up the fellowship network
Following a review of the fellowship pilot and after discussion with fellows, the concepts of a Fellows Council and Fellowship Assessment Board have been agreed.
The purpose of the Fellows Council will
be to: ● Review annually the requirements for fellowship, proposing any changes ● Establish activities for fellows, such as the conference theme, developmental activities, research papers, articles and activities ● They would also receive a composite report for the year on fellows receiving
The Fellowship Assessment Board would be established to act as the final point of accountability for the awarding of fellowship to members. It would shadow the structure and objectives of the current board for academic awards.
The IHM is now looking for nominations from its fellows to sit on either the Fellows Council or Fellowship Assessment Board. The closing date for nominations is 16 July. The aim is to hold the first meeting of the Fellows Council on 5 October.
