of the most profound successes of the Green Dorm Project was its use of student innovation through an interactive class, CEE 124 (Sustainable Development Studio). In this class, students were given the opportunity to pursue ideas with faculty and
professionals during the design process and formulate ideas for continued research projects. Throughout its lifecycle, Lotus One will pro- vide opportunities for students to work with faculty to increase ownership of their campus landscape and functionality. These opportunities include internships during the building process, applied classroom projects, and scalable research, all of which fortify communication among students, staff, faculty, and professionals.
is a tremendous opportunity with substantial student support, which will only grow as sustainability comes to the fore- front of future local and global development. Lotus One unlocks the generative power of student ideation and action, and
promotes a collaborative dialogue that establishes a new context of holistic problem solving. The ability to positively shape the future is a profound common desire among all students, a desire that draws on all levels of thinking to make real. Lotus One will be the most desirable place to live on campus simply because it will give students both an outlet and opportunity to shape the future in an ideal and visible campus location.
