Once again, during Memorial Day week, Haigh School held their Annual Ribbon Walk, which proceeds down the hill to the gazebo in Veterans Park, to place ribbons celebrating those who have lost their lives in war. This year, close to 200 children from Haigh made the trek down the hill, escorted by Salem Police, the Salem JR. ROTC Color Guard, and a few of the Salem Blue Devils band members. These students walked in an orderly fashion while waving small American flags. Once at the gazebo, they lined up

Post 63 on Millville Street in Salem took place this past weekend. The night ended up with tons of snacks, socializing, and good memories shared.

Ribbon Walk Honors Lives Lost in War
and waited for their family member to be called, at which time it became so quiet—almost enough to hear a pin drop. As each name got called, a small ribbon was placed on the gazebo representing the family member. When finished, the students walked back up the hill to their school to enjoy popsicles and catch the school bus home. What a good way to remember!
