This 380-bed hospital project involves world-class consultants including KEO, Ellerbe Becket, Cesar Pelli & Associate Architects and Arup. Valued at US$2.3 billion, the project’s built up area is 98,000 square metres and completion is expected in 2012.

Wakrah Hospital

A 321-bed hospital in the south of Qatar which covers an area of 303,500 metres and comprises a six-storey central block and three low-rise structures. Developed by the Public Works Authority, the US$514 million project is scheduled for completion this year.

HMC Children’s Hospital

This 217-bed healthcare facility will be Qatar’s first exclusive children’s hospital and is located at Asian Games Village opposite Hamad Medical City. Earlier this year Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) signed a five-year partnership with Canada-based Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) for the development of the hospital.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD)

Developed by Mubadala, this 360-bed hospital located on Al Sowwah Island will be operated by the USA’s Cleveland Clinic. The US$1.4 billion project will comprise a 324-room clinic and will cover a total built-up area of 500,000 square metres. In March the main contract was awarded to the joint venture between Six Construct and Samsung Corporation.

Saudi German Hospital

This US$90 million speciality centre, located in Dubai’s Al Barsha district, will include services such as cardiac surgery and neurosurgery, as well as state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities. Covering five-storeys, the 300-bed hospital will have a built-up area of approximately 91,972 square metres and a development area of 34,048 metres.

Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital

Occupying a total built-up area of 65,000 square metres in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the US$217 million Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital will contain six storeys, 248 beds and departments including oncology and cardiology. The architect for the project is Perkins Eastman while the principal contractor is MCM Group.
