Entry Requirements:
Admission is for teachers/ lecturers/trainers already working in the post-compulsory sector. Enty in to year two will be considered for applicants who have City and Guilds 7407 Stages 1 and 2, DTTLS Year 1 or equivalent. (Contact the Programme Leader at Swindon College via Student Services who will assess qualifications to see if they are equivalent).
Note: Those students who gained their first year qualification (e.g. 7407, 7307) before September 2007 must access the LLUK website ‘tariff tables’ to ascertain what further study must undertaken before joining the PGCE course in year two.
GCSE English grade C+ is required. Students who do not have this qualification will be required to achieve Key Skill Communications at Level 2 or GCSE English language before the course commences.
Students must have 75 hours teaching during the academic year/s in which they undertake the course. Applicants are required to have minimum Level 3 qualification, which may be a vocational qualification in their subject.
To gain QTLS – Qualified Teaching Learning and Skills - you are also required to have GCSE maths Grade A – C or equivalent.
