presented the 2010 Veterans of Foreign Wars Firefighter of the Year award on May 7th, during a ceremony held on at the VFW Hall. The following is the nomination letter

that was submitted by Chief Murray. It is with great pride and honor that I write to you today to nominate Firefighter/EMT - Paramedic Tom Sullivan for this year's Loyalty Day Award. Tom started his career with the Hudson

Fire Department in October of 1991. As your introduction letter to the Loyalty

Day Awards Program states, this occasion is to honor people who through their dedication and service have contributed to the well being of the community. As a Firefighter and Paramedic for the Hudson Fire Department, Tom consistently demonstrates a high level of firefighting and emergency medical skills. Tom has reached the highest level of emergency medical certification and through his knowledge and experiences has saved many lives throughout his career by utilizing his advanced life support skills. Tom is able to provide medical interventions that slow down the progression of a heart attack or stroke to our citizens who suffer a medical emergency. Through extensive study and

practice in the use of cardiac drugs h e i s a b l e t o provide treatment on the scene of an emergency saving precious time in starting care that would be delayed from transport to the h o s p i t a l . Most importantly he consistently demonstrates compassion and genuine concern for those who are suffering from illness or injury. Tom demonstrates this same level of dedication and professionalism when working in his roles as a Firefighter. My nomination today does not
