CAR CLUBS

continued from page 26

The Preston St. BIA Demonstration

Speed Zone is another highlight which takes place about 2 p.m. We close off

Carling Ave. Concrete and metal barricades go up and we present many cars for your viewing pleasure. Karts, Legends, Atlantic formula and, of course, the Ferraris, get to stretch their legs on the track. We end the day with a gala dinner at St. Anthony Soccer Club which features a five-course dinner, complimentary wine and a comedian. Tickets will be available on line on our website. Sunday June 20 we are back on Preston at 9 a.m. for the

Scotiabank Ferrari Dream Ride. Scotiabank’s Parkdale branch kicks off this fundraiser with a $5,000 donation and by selling 100 tickets at $50 each we raise the other $5,000 to bring in a combined total of $10,000 for Villa Marconi. The Dream Ride has evolved into a great Father’s Day gift that kids give to their dads. The Ferraris are on display on Friday and Saturday night on

Preston St. so you can get up close and personal. Vote for your favorite and enjoy the works from Maranello. It makes for a busy year as we all work together throughout

the winter to put on the festival as well as the many activities we organize during the summer months.

Is it worth it?

The answer is simply: of course. You get to hang out with

friends and shoot the breeze. Talking about Ferraris, sharing laughs and one-liners are the essence of every car club. The car is the common denominator which brings us together. The fun and friendship is what keeps us there. If you are interested in learning more about the FCA Ottawa

Chapter, visit us on line at www.fcaottawa.com. Everyone is welcome to join the FCA. All you have to be is a Ferrari Fan. Our yearly events as well as the FCA Ottawa Ferrari Festival schedule can all be found on our site. Ottawa has a very active car scene. I’m not sure if you are

aware of the Tifosi Club at the Ottawa St. Anthony Soccer Club. They have a great “motor sport lounge” complete with giant T.V. screen, couches, food, drink and meeting room dedicated to and available for all the Ottawa Car Clubs. It provides everyone with a place to call home. If you want a tour, call Joe Ierullo. He can be reached at 613-231-1083. He will be more than happy to show you around. I fully expect to hear from all of you so I can feature your

club in an upcoming issue of Bounder. Drop me a line at

gcastrucci@laurysenkitchens.com

Until then, keep smiling… and see you in my rearview

mirror.
