“In international cricket there are not too many seam bowlers who are hugely successful under the 85 mark.

“I want to be quick but I’m not prepared to change nmy action at the moment.”

Talking about pace, Harris admits he is relishing the arrival of Tait for the nTwenty20 Cup in June, especially after he bowled the fastest delivery on Aussie turf with a 99.86mph ball against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“I’m hugely excited about Shaun coming over. He is going to be a lot different from Kruger and Jason Gillespie.

“He has got that extra two yards of pace and it’s going to be hugely interesting to see how he goes about his cricket and the amount of stress he puts on his body.

“In fact he doesn’t play all forms of cricket because of the stress it puts on his body.

I’m looking forward to talking to him about his action and bowling quick.

“Bowling with him could go either way for me. People could be looking to get up my end and smack me out of the park, but I could get a couple of wickets.”

Glamorgan are obviously targeting the Twenty20 Cup, but the club will also looking to build on encouraging county championship form with promotion looking a good bet.

Harris is confi dent that Glamorgan have the ability and team spirit to emerge from six years in the doldrums.

“The dressing room is a great place to be. There are no cliques or groups within groups,” he said.

“We haven’t had the success maybe we have deserved over the last few years, but I think we can get back to winning ways.

“These things come in cycles and I’d like to think we are on the up after a bit of a downward spiral over the past three or four years. I’m just really looking forward to it all.”
