Madison pair
Welsh rider Luke Rowe and his team mate Mark Christian became National Madison Champions for 2010, with a powerful, controlling and consistent display of riding.

The pairing were always at the head of the race and never buckled, despite the close attentions of fellow Welsh riders Jon Mould and the young Sam Harrison, along with their team mates. There was fi nal last gasp attempt to clinch victory but Rowe and his team mate were not phased and dealt with the attack well enough to give them the fi nal overall victory.
The Madison event has two riders in each team. One rider is always racing whilst the other rides around the top of the track until his team mate catches him and slings him into the event. The event is the most technical and exciting event on the track and will hopefully form part of the track programme in in the Commonwealth Games.
Luke Rowe who is part of the Great Britain Academy programme is looking to win a medal at the Commonwealth
Games in Delhi later in the year and with this victory coming early in the year, 2010 has certainly started perfectly for the 19-year-old.
Welsh Junior rider Sam Harrison, who was also part of the event, rode to a superb second place overall against riders from the Great Britain Squads and some of top professional teams, Raleigh and Motorpoint. Sam is part of the Great Britain ODP programme and he will also be looking to secure a place on the Team for Delhi.
Welsh riders Jon Mould and Owain Doull were in the battle for the 3rd and fi nal place on the podium only to narrowly miss out in fi nal sprint of the event where double points are awarded for the fi nal sprint. All four riders of the Welsh will be names to watch throughout the year in the build up to the Commonwealth Games.
