“Thumbs down to parents who allow their
children to bring expensive electronics to school! It is absolutely unnecessary for a grade school child to bring an iPod to school where it can potentially be stolen. If you would say no to your child once in a while, he would still have his iPod! You are the parent, after all!”
Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down?
“We want to be your Mechanic”
should move to a place where there’s no ice cream truck instead of complaining about it!!! ...Same goes for the person who keeps writing about the bonfires...Hello people we live in NH!!!”
“Thumbs up to the Hudson Fire & Police Departments for evacuating those of us on Lawrence Road so efficiently on Tuesday evening & then notifying us when we could return to our home.”
“Thumbs up to having guns in your home, but ‘thumbs down’ to those who are not responsible with them.”
“Thumbs up to the Letter to the Editor regarding the bike speed on Albuquerque Avenue in Litchfield. It’s very scary, and dangerous, when bikes come from behind at a fast speed. What happened to ringing a bell or giving some notice? When I have a dog on leash, it’s even more dangerous if they step in front of the bike! Please be courteous.”
“Thumbs down to the school board member
who used her power to break the rules set by the Campbell track coach. Your daughter missed school and the rule states she cannot practice and if she misses practice she cannot go to the meet. Instead of playing by the rules, you involved the SAU and she was allowed to participate. Rules are for everybody.”
“Thumbs up to my husband Billy and my sons
Tony and Frankie for helping me achieve my lifetime goal of being a college graduate and getting my RN. Your love, support and amazing patience is what got me through and even the biggest college words will never be able to express how much I love you! Mwaahh!!”
“Thumbs up to Noah for doing a terrific job
backing up the pitcher Wednesday night! Go Marlins!”
“Thumbs down. Who’s the
Mook driving around with the ‘Brooklyn’ vanity plate? Do you realize you live in New England, proud home of the Sox and Pats? Geesh, talk about the turd in the punchbowl...I bet you’re the guy I see at Market Basket with the Yankees hat on. Go back to the Jersey shores with the rest of those Choochs.”
“Thumbs down to guys with
mustaches! You smell funny and always have crumbs in them. It’s time to buy a razor (‘Ray Z Ohr’) and shave off those stinky things!”
“Thumbs up to the HLN. This is the first issue in over a month that hasn’t included an unreadable letter from a certain local rep. Keep up the good work.”
“Thumbs up and congratulations
to the Hudson Animal Hospital for their new AAHA accreditation. Hudson is proud of you.”

“Thumbs up to working Moms! It is so hard to
leave children with a relative or at a daycare. There is constant worry. A growing body of evidence demonstrates those children of working mothers are more independent and successful then the children of stay-at-home moms. Why? They have to be, your children learn to take charge of their own life, do their homework and chores, and entertain themselves. Working moms can better provide for their children’s needs while raising strong, caring, independent children. Congratulations Ladies!”
“Thumbs down to the ‘Hells Angel’ wannabe on Cranberry Lane in Litchfield. We are not impressed with the childish noise you make. Have some regard for your neighbors and grow up. You can ride your motorcycle more quietly. Grow up and be an adult.”
and Whole Foods fan who keeps posing how horrible the town and residents are for opening the Benson Park property for a recreation area: there are plenty of retail spaces available in this town for your Frappuccinos and organic foods. I hear the plaza on Lowell Road has a few openings, if you would like to petition those corporations to buy space. The rest of the town is looking forward to a recreational area that celebrates the history of the town. If you don’t, please just go on your merry way and stay away from the park.”

“Thumbs down yet again to
the owners of the chocolate lab on Highland Street who leave their dog out 7 days a week, with no attention, exercise or the opportunity to come inside. I can hardly drive by and watch this dog any longer. I will contact animal control to see what they think.”
“Thumbs down. Question to Hudson town DPW,
how long before you fix Kiena Road? Is the fix just to leave the ‘Bump’ sign there for another 3 months.”
“Thumbs up to Kim Kohm for another magical
evening for the little ladies and their fathers at GMS. You have stepped up and coordinated another successful Father/Daughter dance that we am sure both the dads and their daughters will always remember. Thank you Kim! AWESOME JOB! It’s volunteers like yourself that make the difference!!!”

“Thumbs down...way down to the ‘fun sucker’ that keeps writing about the ice cream truck. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but it is spring, and soon to be summer, and I look forward to hearing the ice cream truck come around. Maybe you don’t have little ones yourself, so you don’t understand the joy that it brings. If you don’t like it so much maybe you

“Thumbs down to the soiled, torn and possibly
vermin infested mattress on Rena Road. Does anyone have access to a dumpster with a little extra space in it? Is there a kind Samaritan out there who can help these neighbors with their predicament? I have seen a few dumpsters in the neighborhood recently. Can the town or the Board of Health help them? I am concerned not just with the unsightliness, but with the health risk it may represent. This is a good neighborhood, and many people take great pride in their yards. Can anyone help these people instead of condemning them? Please?”

“Thumbs down to the person that did not attend their daughter’s SNHU College Graduation on Saturday 5/15. She worked very hard for that and you have showed zero support. There is absolutely no excuse for what you did not do! It’s no wonder why she calls you by your first name.”

“Thumbs up, a huge ‘thumbs up’ to the HPD for training/ educating the crossing guard on Melendy & Thorning Road that he is not traffic control! He is a ‘Crossing Guard’ for students! I have traveled both ways down Melendy and exiting Thorning Road as some days I drop off my student at HMS and other days I do not. The only time I have ever been held up in traffic is when that crossing guard is trying to be traffic control and either has it backed Melendy which not to mention has a serious blind incline, or he has it backed up down Thorning Road. Traffic flows much better now that he is doing his job as a crossing guard. If not messing up the traffic flow takes away his smile then maybe he should apply for a ‘Traffic Control’ position with Continental Paving Co.”
“Thumbs up to Sherilyn for

“Thumbs up to the guy who brought a laser pen on the DC trip for LMS. You couldn’t have asked for a funnier situation then putting red dots on the heads of passersby. That really freaked them out. Good thing your mom didn’t care, heck she was on the trip with you. That was awesome!”
“Thumbs down to Bradley Motor’s in Hudson for poor customer service. Have taken car repeatedly to get fixed and basically told my problem. Never allowed to test drive car before purchase, now having problems with the vehicle, and they told me to deal.”
