AUNESCOWorldHeritage Site, theHead- Smashed-In Buffalo Jump offers visitors a glimpse into the history of the Blackfoot people and one of theirmostwell-known
methods of hunting: The buffalo jump. Locatedwest of Fort Macleod onHighway 785,where the RockyMountain foothillsmeet the prairies, theHead-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump interpretive centre is nestled into the ancient sandstone cliff thatwas used for centuries by the plains natives to drive herds of buffalo to their deaths. Visitors can tour the five-level facility depicting the ecology,mythology, lifestyle and technology of the Blackfoot people aswell as visit the actual jump site located nearby. Traditional native drumand dance performances are held everyWednesday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. through July and August. Tipi camping is also available during the summermonths. Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is open year-round daily

Saamis Teepee is a sight to see
OverlookingHighway 1 and the scenic Seven Persons coulee, the 58-metre high Saamis Teepeewas originally constructed for the 1988 WinterOlympic Games in Calgary. Ten circular
storyboards depicting aboriginal culture and history ring the tipi,while a self-guidedwalk through the nearby Saamis archeological site takes visitors through one of themost important sites in theNorthern Plains,wheremore than 83 million artifacts are believed to be buried.
Quoted as the ‘Gem of the Lethbridge Park Systems’ Nikka Yuko will re-open on May 8, 2010, with cultural activities planned throughout the season until closing on Thanksgiving weekend.
Come visit in the Spring to witness the many blossoming trees and shrubs and the beauty of the waterfall and landscape.
