Car enthusiasts help the good times roll in Lethbridge July 9-11 when the Street Wheelers Car Club stages its annual Street MachineWeekend. The event brings

thousands of classic and customvehicles into the city. The weekend kicks off with the traditional cruise on 3 Avenue South andMayorMagrath Drive South July 9 at 7 p.m. July 10 will dawn with the 100-foot dash at the Exhibition Park, wheremuscle cars compete for the fastest time. There's also autocross racing July 11 at Exhibition Park. July 11 wraps up with a show and shine at Galt Gardens, where car buffs can see hundreds of custom, restored and special interest vehicles. The show and shine runs from9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with awards to

Heritage Days, June 30-July 1, offer a couple of new things this year. The Road Race will have door prizes, chip timing, performance shirts and a 2K Fun Run &Walk. Also new

this year is Raymond’s first annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament played streetball style on outdoor courts. Visit the town’s website as pre-registration is required. Other events include a family softball tournament,

family program, parade, street fair, pancake breakfast, RHS alumni basketball game, fireworks and, of course, the Raymond Stampede—the longest continuously running rodeo in Canada. Started in 1902, the rodeo is held July 1 every year in conjunction with the town’s other Canada Day celebrations.
