Joinmy pirate ship

Let me hoist this flag over the whole of Emap. When you join Emap you are joining a pirate culture. This is not true of many large, market leading companies. They tend to be more like the Navy and the Ministry of Defence, both of which are splendid organisations of course. They are not however commercial organisations. Pirates, by contrast, are highly commercial.

Storybook pirates sail in small, fast ships. They are nimble and responsive. They understand the elements. They are scarily fast when the wind is with them and they tack with aggressive skill when they have to sail into it. They target rich opportunity. They always keep a man in the look-out. They like treasure. They operate as a team though they don't look a bit like one and they never wear a uniform. They never stand on ceremony. They are individually a bit unruly but collectively they are crystal clear in their goals. They are not predictable. They have imagination and daring. But they don't leave things to chance. They operate with rigorous planning and they execute with discipline. They have the best maps, which they drew themselves. They strike quickly to get the job done. Then they party well. They celebrate captures and they laugh a lot. They respect courage and boy do they know their own heroes. They expect to succeed together, so they do. They never lack firepower. They are terrible enemies to have. You really wouldn’t mess with pirates.

If this sounds like the sort of place you’d thrive in; a place where from the day you join you work and play ferociously hard, strive for success and are rewarded for achieving it, then read on, and I hope to welcome you aboard soon.
