This year Transwide – a part of Wolters Kluwer Transport Services – celebrates its tenth anniversary in leading-edge transport execution network and system
provision. Manufacturing & Logistics IT caught up with the company’s CEO Fabrice Maquignon to talk about the key rationale behind the founding of the company, together with some of its current core solution USPs.

hen Transwide was first founded early 2000 the company based its technology model on filling what it perceived to be a
major void in the transportation execution solutions market. For ten years, the success of the company bears testimony to the demand for a system whereby all key players within a transportation eco-system – from the shipper and customer to the carrier – can access and share exactly the same up-to-the-minute data. “This level of data transparency immediately became a big hit in the marketplace,” reflected Fabrice Maquignon, who explained what he sees as the key ingredients of the Transwide technology model within its suite of transportation software solutions: “Our solutions are available as a pay-as-you-go Software as a Service (SaaS) model. It’s a
shared application, meaning we are able to connect shippers and carriers to their entire logistics environment in that it connects shippers, their contracted carriers, their customers and their suppliers alike, allowing them to gain visibility of transport execution. Transwide brings all these players and all these logistics disciplines together in one network. Our growth over the past decade is testimony to the value and effectiveness of our system.”
