A Visit to La Bonne Vie Spa at Dolphin Bay Resort

Enhance, Enrich, Enjoy. These three words encapsu- late the vision of La Bonne Vie’s founder, Maureen Raynaud. The ‘E’ theme is carried through to many of the spa’s service offer- ings, with names like Elite, Engage and Expect, a prenatal service designed specifically for expect- ant mothers. They accept guests as young as 11

years old with the consent of a parent.

A brief visit to the La Bonne Vie (French for “The Good Life”) will leave you wishing you had stayed longer. The un-assuming entrance hall opens into a quaint reception area with all of the amenities one would expect from a top-rated resort spa. The list of spa services available is too long to repeat here, but smart money bets that you will find one or more items on that list that cannot be found elsewhere. They even offer massage therapy treat- ments in the privacy and comfort of your suite.

The spa suggests that you arrive fifteen minutes early. Thirty minutes early will give you that much more time to slip into your robe and slippers and enjoy the ameni- ties in the reception area which include very comfortable lounge seating, light snacks and fruit-infused water. You might also enjoy browsing the shelves for exclusive prod- ucts from Carita, Decleor and Oxygen Botanicals.

On your way to the treatment rooms you will pass the unique manicure sofa which provides for very cozy mani- cure/pedicure experience if you go with a friend or two. The single treatments and treatment packages can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours with pricing up to $455.00 per person.

My service, the Excel which features deep-tissue massage lasted an hour and was just perfect. The masseuse, Ste- phen, was very exacting in asking about any parts of my body which may be sensitive or should be excluded from treatment. He provided just the right amount of pressure and adjusted in response to my feedback.

After the treatment I used the large Swedish-style shower to wash up. Everything I needed was there. When I re- turned to the reception area I enjoyed more light snacks and requested a tip envelope for Stephen. There was never any pressure to leave a tip; in fact, I had to ask for the envelope. I returned to my suite feeling like a million dollars! Everything about La Bonne Vie is first-class.

For unrivaled private and corporate events the Coastal Room can accommodate up to 50 people or so. Its spec- tacular views and close proximity to the Lido Restaurant will guarantee an unforgettable experience.
