Travelling with your pets is easier than ever as demand for pet-friendly hotels is growing.
When your pet is in unfamiliar surroundings, be sure to give them a daily “health check up” to ensure they are staying happy and health on your trip.
Bring your pet’s favorite bedding along for the trip to ensure they are comfortable on vacation.
To make sure everyone is having fun, check out these tips for keeping your pets comfortable while you enjoy your trip:
Make Vacation Fun for Everyone:
Remember that your pet appreciates consistency. Even while you are out of town, stick to your pet’s regular feeding schedule. This will reduce anxiety for them in a new place, and keep them from getting digestive problems that can ruin a vacation.
Bring your pets’ favorite toys, treats, and bedding to give them a sense of home. Ensuring that your pet has all of the things they need to have fun will reduce stress for the whole family on a vacation. Keeping them busy with favorite treats and toys will ensure you have time for fun yourself!
Find pet-friendly destinations outside of your hotel! While your pet appreciates joining you on vacation, they may become a little anxious if left alone in the hotel all day. Be sure to research the area you are trav- elling to so you can find dog parks, pet-friendly restaurants, or other places your animal can come with you for a fun outing.
At the end of the day, always give your pet a quick health check up. When you are in unfamiliar surround- ings, your pets’ appetite, disposition, and energy level may change. By giving them a quick once-over, you can be sure there is nothing to cause you concern.
No matter how fun the vacation is, your animals’ safety is always top priority. If you have any questions about preparing your pet for their big trip, please call the Valley Animal Center at 559-233-8554.
