Drug Problem
I had a drug problem when I was young. I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for wedding and funerals. I was drug to family reunions no matter the weather. I was drug to the bus stop to go to school every weekday. I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults and teachers. I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents. Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in every thing I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin, and if today’s children had this kind of drug problem,
America might be a better place.

Speech Therapy
We have two-year old twin boys, Frank and
Jake. While both boys were somewhat speech delayed, Jake talked more than Frank, so it was decided that Frank would go to speech therapy. Now both boys speak fairly well. Have you ever wondered if “The Terrible Twos”
were a myth? I can testify that it is not a myth. Both these boys are beautiful to look at, which may be the reason both are still on the planet and I am not in jail. They are the most arrogant, demanding, misbehaving, defi ant, spoiled, willful tandem of terror you can imagine. They present the world a combined 82 pounds of relentless trouble. They are absolutely convinced their mother, their grandmother, and their aunt exist on this earth solely to serve them. On one occasion, their mother had brought for
them two sippy cups of a favorite beverage. The den fl oor was covered with toys. It was near time to go upstairs to bed. Both boys were thirsty. Four little hands reached up for the cups. Their mother said, “First, we need to pick up all these toys; you cannot have the drink until you pick up all these toys. Jake began slowly to pick up some toys.
Frank seemed to contemplate for a while, then proclaimed a clear, well-articulated “Bull$#%!” “Oh, whip him,” someone said. “I can’t whip him,” I said; “I think he learned it
from me. Anyway the speech therapy seems to be working.”
