Study location:
This vocational programme provides a mixture of theoretical studies and practical experience for aspiring musicians to develop an understanding of music performance and the skills necessary for a career within the industry.
The programme includes the following modules:
• P rinciples of Musical Sound • Music Performance Studies • Harmony and Composition • Music Business and the Entrepreneur • Songwriting • Improvisation
Progression
Students will be prepared for a range of musical and non- musical careers in the industry or related sectors. They may also progress to degree study, or Canterbury Christ Church University advanced placement on a music degree course.
Assessment
Assessment is through coursework, written tests, assignments and performance related project work.
Additional Information
Students’ instrumental ability is important and students must be able to provide their own instrument and related consumables.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must have at least one of the following: a relevant Level 3 qualification such as AS/A level(s), National Diploma, AVCE, GNVQ, Access, or equivalent. Applicants will also need to demonstrate proficiency with their chosen instrument(s), or voice, and have Music Theory at Grade 4/5.
