A New Issue and a New Size
A
s you hold the new Lotus Guide in your hands, you may be noticing its new size. We reformatted the size and added eight pages for a couple of reasons. One was in response to a survey we sent out last year to 7,000 of our readers asking various questions, one of which was “In your opinion, what would be the one thing that would make the Lotus Guide better?” You
had a wide variety of suggestions, but what most of you wanted was that it be smaller, making it less cumbersome when reading at restaurants and coffeehouses and making it easier to carry. Also, last year we lowered our ad rates 25 percent by going quarterly, which means our rates today are lower than they were four years ago. We wanted to avoid raising our rates this year to help our advertisers address the financial climate that we find ourselves in. We were able to accomplish all this with the new formatting and to produce another 1,000 magazines on top of it for the same cost. The Lotus Guide is also online and our Business Directory is free for a basic listing. This was also in response to our survey
on how to make the Lotus Guide more valuable to the community. One way you can help is by joining the Lotus Guide Group on Facebook. Simply go to
www.facebook.com/rahasyapoe, search for the Lotus Guide Group, and join. You will find that we probably have many mutual friends, maybe some you’ve lost track of. In our next issue, July/August/September, you will see that Lotus Guide is entering another phase of development in which
we will have a section called The Business Directory, making it possible for local businesses to include their information in print and online for a nominal price. This will make the Lotus Guide much more valuable to readers looking for resources throughout the community. As always, we are open to your suggestions and needs and appreciate your continued support as we enter a new world filled with new opportunities as we continue to dance with life.
