Estonian shopping goes digital
Solaris, the state of the art Estonian shopping and entertainment centre, has chosen ONELAN’s digital sig- nage to use across its building guides, advertising, dynamic ticket and event information. They wanted flexibility, extensive content possibilities and an easy to use automated system. Digital Signage is an all-in-one solution that can display all types of information that need to be communicated to vis- itors. ONELAN was chosen for its reliability, as the system runs on a Linux platform, as well as its flexible Ad-Hoc feature meaning that end- users need no training at all to change information or media. The
content is run from ONELAN Net- Top-Boxes (NTBs), including three NTB-615s, five NTB-610s and one NTB-500S. These drive 120 LCD screens (42"-50") and one large LED outdoor screen. Priit Rebane mem- ber of the board of Solaris explains, “ONELAN NTB-s are ‘out of the box and ready to use’, they offer low power consumption and relatively small size units."

Morleys chooses Futura
Morleys Stores Group, which oper- ates six department stores in the Greater London area, is standardising its operation with Futura’s retail man- agement platform and in the process replacing an IBM based system at its latest acquisition, Roomes of Upminster. Managing Director David James commented: “Our strategy is to have a common platform across all six stores to meet our multi-chan- nel merchandising needs. We chose Futura as a long term partner to help us move the business from its finan- cial focus to unit stock, allowing us to undertake more detailed sales analy-
sis, improve our understanding of sales patterns and increase staff productivity.” Based on experiences at their flagship store, Elys of Wimbledon, which deployed Futura’s easy to use retail manage- ment system to 50 tills last year, the group expects to achieve similar benefits at Roomes with reduced customer waiting times, improved margins, optimised stock levels and efficiencies across the business.
