Chandler declares war on weeds

City offers landscaping tools online

Winter rains have prompted vigorous weed growth this spring, which when left unchecked, can become a fire hazard. In an effort to combat the weeds, the week ending May 2 was declared “Let’s Pull Together Week” by the City of Chandler.

The City is asking residents, neighborhood organizations, church groups, employers, business groups and others to organize themselves to pull area weeds where needed.

If a lawn needing maintenance is in an HOA, the City encourages residents to contact their association to seek assistance. If a home is vacant, neighbors can express their concerns to the listed Realtor, bank, property management company or owner listed at the County Assessor’s office. In extreme cases, the City’s Code Enforcement Unit can be contacted for intervention at 480-782-4320.
