Benjamin Franklin part of Trump’s ‘Apprentice’ show

Local franchise owner to appear on Ch. 12

For the first time, NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” show will feature home service brands, including Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, at 8 p.m. on May 2. Local Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchise owner Linda Stanfield is very excited.

“For our local brand to be picked out as the first is awesome,” she says. “It is a perfect match between Donald Trump and Benjamin Franklin, The Punctual Plumber, which operates with punctuality and timeliness.”

Stanfield, who has owned the franchise for 26 years, will be featured on the local NBC affiliate station KPNX-TV Channel 12’s Arizona Midday at 1 p.m.

During the episode, celebrity teams are challenged with a creative task highlighting the brands’ popular message of punctuality and reliability.

The latest installment of “Celebrity Apprentice” will feature 14 celebrities as they duke it out to raise millions for their various charities throughout the season. Contestants include Met and Yankees star Darryl Strawberry, ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, Sinbad and pop star Cyndi Lauper, Sharon Osbourne from “America’s Got Talent” and Bret Michaels from ”Rock of Love“, actress Holly Robinson Peete, funny lady Carol Leifer, wrestlers Bill Goldberg and Maria Kanellis, Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone, Olympians Summer Sanders and Michael Johnson and model Selita Banks.

Local medical center, hospital, CUSD recognized for ‘excellence’

Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Hospital were honored with the ASPRA*tions Award of Excellence for Business, Civic Organization or Foundation at the Arizona School Public Relations annual Superintendents Luncheon at the Deer Valley Unified School District.

At the same event, Chandler Unified School District earned three Awards of Excellence, receiving recognition for overall public relations for its marketing program to attract students to schools and public education tax credit promotion. Operated by Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), the facilities are dedicated to delivering “compassionate, high-quality, affordable health services, serving and

advocating for the poor and disenfranchised, and partnering with others in the community to improve quality of life of residents.”

“Perhaps the biggest recipients of the Chandler Regional Medical Center’s culture of community involvement are the students and staff of the Chandler Unified School District,” says CUSD spokesperson Terry Locke. “Delivery of health service through school-hosted programs and the development of future medical workforce are at the heart of the partnership.”
