MAC Karate Students Compete at Historic Event
M
AC karate students had a great opportunity to learn and compete at the 24th annual Northwest Classic Karate Tournament and seminars. Twenty-four MAC students and instructors joined 400 other karate enthusiasts from 38 different schools for this historic event. Everyone in the MAC karate program learned lessons to help their practice continue to grow. The weekend began with five action-
packed seminars taught by world-class karate masters. Kata (forms), kumite (fighting), and the spirit and history of karate were all covered in these educational sessions. Twelve masters, including many ranking eighth-degree black belt and higher, were also on hand for a group dinner Saturday night. This was the largest gath- ering ever of Japanese masters in the Pacific Northwest.
