embers need to be aware of the club’s scheduled three-day shutdown during the Memorial Day weekend as the club replaces a major
piece of electrical equipment. The project is necessary to maintain uninterrupted electrical power to the clubhouse by replacing the three 20-year-old interior transformers and switchgear. This replacement is the club’s most critical facility project for 2010.
The project is necessary to maintain uninterrupted electrical power to the clubhouse. With electricity to the clubhouse shut off, this project requires a complete closure of the club for the three-day weekend. The shutdown begins Friday, May 28 at closing time and continues
through Monday, May 31. All areas of the club are scheduled to close for safety and security issues. The clubhouse is expected to reopen Tuesday, June 1.
Private dining, restaurants, athletic staff, member events staff and committees have all been contacted about the closure and no events at the club should be scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend. Club events taking place away from the clubhouse are not affected. The Memorial Day weekend was chosen because research showed that there is a low level of activity at the club during this holiday weekend.
The clubhouse is expected to reopen with limited service at 5 a.m.
Tuesday, June 1 and be fully operational by noon. Members working out in the morning may not be able to enjoy a hot shower, and food service is available but limited.
Members who normally use the club in the morning should check the club website,
www.theMAC.com, to make sure the club is opening as scheduled.
