BISHOP’S STORTFORD FLYER MAY 2010
This year’s Midnight Walk in aid of St Clare Hospice is fast approaching however so far registrations have been slow to come in compared to this time last year.
THE GREAT GIRLS NIGHT OUT - SIGN UP TODAY URGES HOSPICE
“We’ve got hundreds of sign up forms just waiting to be filled out, to make this year’s Midnight Walk bigger and pinker than ever before! By this time last year we had already received over 300 entries but this year we haven’t so far seen as many. We’re hoping that the Easter holiday may have affected the take up a little and that the forms will start flooding in now.” said Tracy Stratford, Events Fundraiser.
“It’s difficult with so many other charity events taking place at the same time and with money being tight for everyone, but we’re hoping that the 19th June will be a date for girls diaries and we can exceed last year’s total of 1,600 walkers raising £120,000 for the Hospice. The event, a first for Harlow was started in 2008 and each year has got bigger and better, raising vital funds for people with life limiting illnesses in Harlow and throughout West Essex and the East Herts border.”
St Clare Hospice is urging anyone who is interested in taking part that hasn’t signed up so far to go online:
www.stclarehospice.
org.uk and register, or phone 01279 773 750 to request a registration form. The 10k route starts at the Water Gardens with on stage entertainment from Ten17 before thousands of ladies take to the footpaths and cycle tracks of Harlow at 10.30pm with flashy bunny ears and glow sticks lighting the
MIDNIGHT WALK 2009
way! We will be following the route from the first year’s walk, through Old Harlow.
“It’s an amazing sight seeing Harlow lit up and turned pink for St Clare. We walked last year in memory of my sister in-law who was cared for at the Hospice and the Midnight Walk was a fantastic way to remember her in a positive way
and a lovely way to spend an evening with the girls” said Georgie Wright.
“Everyone takes part for different reasons the night is about fun, laughter and remembering the special care St Clare gives every day of the year. People sign up to have a night out with a difference, others to remember someone close to them and others because they are pink potty!” said Tracy.
So come on girls, what are you waiting for? Get the date in the diary, invite your friends and family and get signed up today and help St Clare Hospice celebrate its 20th year ‘pink-tastically’!
