Concrete blocks supplied
DENIS May & Sons Ltd manufactures concrete blocks at its plant in Cornwall and delivers them across a wide area of the South West. The company, based at St Stephen near St Austell, supplies blocks to the whole of Cornwall and a large part of Devon, taking in Exeter and Barnstaple.
General manager Peter Jago said: ‘We supply major housebuilders, local builders, independent and national builders’ merchants, ground workers and all retail customers requiring blocks for various projects. ‘We operate our own fleet of vehicles and also hire in sub-
contract hauliers on a daily basis. As well as blocks, we can deliver any material that derives from local quarries including aggregate, sand and gravel.

High-profile project in Arabian capital
A HIGH-PROFILE project in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, has added impetus to the expansion plans of a Devon-based tiling contractor. Arena Tiling, based at
Heathfield, near Newton Abbot, works within all business sectors, from shop fitting and refurbishments, to new build housing and commercial projects, throughout the UK and internationally. The business was chosen by project managers, BW Interiors International, as the only British contractor to work on the relocation of the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council headquarters. Four of the company’s tilers spent a month working in Abu Dhabi.
BW Interiors International project director Darrel Ahmed
said: ‘The relocation and refitting of the new headquarters has been of major importance to BW Interiors and it was essential that we chose a tiling contractor with experience in the UAE, as well as a reputation to produce the quality of finish we needed.
