IN THE MARKET

A big hello from the Tavistock Pannier Market!

Hi everyone,

Now, I was told to “tone it down” a lit- tle this month so I decided not to eat three bars of chocolate before writing

this article, *laughs*....oh dear. The weather has been wonderful over the majority of the Easter holidays and it’s been lovely to see so many smiles and hear so much laughter.

The Easter bonnet competition went brilliantly with so many people laughing at the weird and wonderful hats. Congratulations to those traders who won the Easter bonnet/hat competition! And for those who saw me in the market wearing bunny ears, did they really suit me? I got a bit worried by the end of the day after the majority of people said they did....worried much....*laughs*.

Tots 2 Teens/The Toy Cupboard (my mum) is now a permanent fixture in the Tavistock Pannier Market selling all kinds of children’s quality wooden toys (some hand-made in Devon) and bedding....which isn’t but some bedding is Laura Ashley.

Many new traders have popped up in the Tavistock Pannier Market among them are:

We Be Black Sheep, selling T- shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies for children right up to adults. All of them have a funny sheep design on which is brilliant for a laugh. I highly recommend coming in to see them when they are in every Thursday.

Another new trader that’s come to the market sells different types of tea; I never knew there were so many different types available! When you come in on a Thursday and see for yourself you’ll see what I mean. They’re called Speciali- Tea, just look out for the large teapot sitting on the table.....I’ve only just realised the clever use of words for

"Me (Brett) with Bryan Rising of Tavistock Tools"

their business title, it’s only taken 3 weeks *laughs*.

Finally, the last new trader I have met to date is a couple who each have their own branch of a business. Their business is called Sandhil. One half of the business sells Garden Globes, Glassware and Crafts while the other half sells Maps, Globes and Crafts. I noticed a few really different products on their stall which I’ve never seen before. One is a globe which gets filled with water and is stuck into a plant pot, it gradually releases water into the soil over time, helping to keep the plant watered. It’s so different you just have to

come and see it for yourself. They’re in the market every Wednesday, so definitely come along to see them.

I think that’s all for this month, remember to look out for the Garden Festival posters and leaflets that are currently out and about around Tavistock.

We all hope you enjoyed the sunshine that we’ve had and long may it continue. We look forward to seeing you all soon,

Brett

P.S. Aaaahhhh, finished. Now where did I put those chocolate bars......
