private hire drivers, or on the knowledge who might have a certain criminal past
forms as fastidiously as they would say
of our reputation throughout the world. They all should have the same checks and if found or told that checks couldn’t be made, then they cannot under any circumstances be allowed to drive a taxi or private hire vehicle in London. It’s a fact we are the best in the world and long may that continue but left to those whom are supposedly upholding the safety of the public then we are all in trouble because they know not what they are doing and are totally clueless, well to be fair I do have a bit of faith in one of them but time will tell. John Mason is on a tight learning curve and probably bombarded from all directions and so long as he gives both sides a fair crack of the whip then we might see a small change in the taxi industry. I can’t speak for the private hire side but I am told that as soon as one of
they all dance to his tune, let’s hope John Mason has got two left feet and big size ten shoes and uses them liberally up this persons rear end and anyone else within his department who has buggered up and waiting for their contract to be terminated, the quicker the better. The laws are in place regarding touting so why do they ignore them.
Reclaiming the work.
I have on certain occasions found myself
work coming out of there is quite good and I can highly recommend that you pay it a visit if not just to keep away the touts
totally oblivious to but it does let the touts know we mean business. These ranks will be a success if you put on and not allow the touts their way. If it were not for a few drivers who started the ball rolling outside certain venues then nothing would have been achieved by our incredibly inept representation within the trade except they are fantastic at slagging off those who want change. I don’t care who did what and who said this but slagging off page after page in their incredibly dull papers doesn’t help the trade but hands our enemies within the private hire industry another stick to beat
Is there a breakdown in communication at TfL?
might think I am anti establishment. You really couldn’t be further from the truth. I am however wanting the best people for the jobs that govern our day to day running of the taxi trade. We will never see anything like any difference to our work increasing when certain radio circuits are giving yellow badge drivers work outside their areas. Stealing corporate work from green badge driver areas with the
company’s blessings is not only a kick in the teeth for those paying subscriptions to the circuit but is also illegal. They know this but they are still practising the same scam which makes the people running the circuits no better than the touts who infest
companies that they are indeed breaking the law and perhaps consider bringing some to court for their actions. I believe a massive breakdown in communications
and be careful TfL before you jump in with two feet and deny anything, but supposing a driver is jailed for not having a DVLA driving licence but actually has a private hire licence and is actually working his car
as I suspect in this case did the DVLA not bother or know that they should
driver losing his DVLA driving licence in the courts. Either way, a breakdown in communications is a factor and I wonder if the Warboys scenario is the same. A breakdown in communications in certain departments could answer a lot of questions that the trade have thus far seen unanswered.

Aiden Kent...The Singing Taxi Driver

His voice has been likened not only to the
