Team name and why: Asprey London/Ocho Rios (purple and white). I

was born in Jamaica – and Ocho Rios Town is in Jamaica. The team has been called Asprey London for the past three years because they sponsor us.

How did you get into polo? Family

involvement in Jamaica.

Favourite tournament at Guards? The La

Martina Queen Elizabeth The Queen’s Mother’s Centenary Trophy - I have won it four times! Favourite pony? Gloria, a chestnut, 14-year-old mare. I bought her through Robert Thame and she has amazing speed and a running action which is so easy to hit off – the best. My dream team? Eduardo Heguy – I admire his ability at the top of his game. Piki Alberdi – I played with Piki and he would always give everything. Chris Hyde – My friend and one of the best English players. Charlie Holley – My son – one day!

Which tournaments would you most like

to win? The Eduardo Moore 15-goal at the Royal County of Berkshire. I have lost in five finals so it’s got to happen! Favourite hotel? The Splendido, Italy - magnificent. If I am in England

then it has to be Claridges.

Favourite restaurant?

Zuma has the best food.

Who would be your ideal dinner party guests?

Whoever was at dinner I would make sure that I was sitting next to my wife – my best friend.

Favourite dish off the Clubhouse

menu: A cold beer after a game

or a Bloody Mary on a Sunday morning. Preferred wheels? Bentley GTC or the Range Rover Supercharged.

Most listened to track on the IPod? Jimmy

Buffet – A Pirate at 40. Other passions? Shooting, big game, birds, rugby, cricket and tennis. Best book or film? Too many to choose from.

Most unusual gift ever bought?

Asprey London - personal but expensive

Bryan Morrison at Smith’s Lawn; he had just opened his own club and suggested I took up polo and that I should come over to the Royal Berks to play. That was the start of this exceptional adventure!

Favourite tournament at

Guards? The Phoenician as it comes at the best time of the year and offers a

Team name and why: Los Borrachos

(black and pink). It means two horses is one too many. It was suggested to me by Lucy when I entered my first tournament to remind me not to take polo too seriously, it didn’t work!

How did you get into polo? I

started lessons on a wooden horse with Peter Grace at Swaine & Adeney’s London’s store! I later bumped into

level of polo I enjoy. I also support it with our own trophy. Favourite pony? Morena, a 12- year-old Argentine mare. She knows the game, has speed, turns and stops instinctively. She is beautiful and courageous with a big heart.

Your dream team?

Adolfo [Cambiaso], Bautista [Heguy],

Facundo and Gonzalito [Pieres]. They all have their own unique kind of star quality.

Which Guards tournaments would you most

like to win? All of them. Favourite hotel? The Villa Igiea in Palermo, nothing beats that terrace at sunset.

Favourite restaurant for a special dinner?

The Granaio di Ibla, Agrigento, Sicily. It feels as if you could almost touch the 2,000-year-old Temple of Concord from your table.

Who would be your ideal dinner party

guests? Sir Winston Churchill, Sitting Bull, Silvio Berlusconi, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Elvis Presley, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry
