Manufactured from FF109 fully intumescent mineral fibre, Firecap from Aico can be fitted over a downlight in seconds, with no need for screws, drilling or additional sealants. Multiple cable entry points on the side and top simplify installation. Once in place over the downlight the ceiling's integrity is immediately restored and regulations adhered to.

Installation company Solid State has completed another prestigious cinema project, at Newbury's new Vue cinema. A wealth of life safety equipment, including a fire alarm system, was installed in record time. Key elements of the fire alarm system, including aspiration units, door retainers and beam detectors, are powered by a range of 24 V, 3 A power supplies manufactured by C-Tec. One of C-Tec's highly versatile and cost-effective four-zone NC944 call controllers has also been installed to provide the cinema's washrooms with alarm facilities which can be used to call for emergency assistance.
