Balcony Systems Returns to Grand Designs Live
Balcony Systems returns to Grand Designs Live in May for the fourth year running. The stand will feature Balcony’s leading range of curved patio doors, balustrades and Juliette balconies. These innovative products add the ‘wow’ factor to any new build or refurbishment project, making them a popular choice for homeowners, architects and developers. Balcony’s Juliettes give homeowners the opportunity to install a patio or French door above the ground floor to create a clear view from the home in complete safety. The glass balustrades can be installed around the home, in the home or in the garden to enclose a paved patio or decking area. Balcony’s curved patio doors take property transformation to another level. The doors add a really high-end, classy look to buildings and architects describe this stunning range as ‘breathtaking’. Managing Director Effi Wolff comments: “We’re looking forward to exhibiting again at such a prestigious event and welcome visitors to our stand. It’s a great opportunity to reach our key target audiences and for them to experience first hand the quality of our products and what they achieve for buildings.” Visit Balcony on Stand B124.

Specifier information resource PVCaware.org, run by the British Plastics Federation, takes a bigger stand at Ecobuild 2010 to demonstrate the recyclability and fire retardancy of PVC-U windows. Information will include how old PVC windows are being made in to new frames and hundreds of other items and how, following recent fires in tower blocks, PVC-U acts as a fire-retardant that inhibits the spread of flames. Philip Law, a director at the BPF said: “PVC-U is a great material for today’s building industry. For windows it scores top marks for sustainability in the BRE Green Guide. It can be recycled over and over again. It has excellent energy ratings. It is safe, versatile and highly affordable compared with alternatives. At Ecobuild we’ve been able to answer many quite in-depth enquires before and hope to again.”
